Eugenia & Jed’s Elegant and Timeless Wedding
Today we are thrilled to feature a truly romantic and timeless wedding at the historic Fort Garry Hotel. Eugenia and Jed’s wedding aesthetic had plenty of romantic underpinnings, and we purposefully contrasted those classic elements with modern touches to make it a celebration that felt authentic to the couple’s outgoing and spirited nature. The goal was to create a feeling of old-world elegance and romance and there was no photographer duo better suited for the task than Michael and Melanie. They captured all the traditions and timeless elements AND stayed late for an incredible after party that kept the couple and their guests partying until the wee hours of the morning. Keep scrolling to read all the details from their incredible day!
Eugenia and Jed chose not to have an official wedding party, but they still got ready separately with close family and friends who had traveled near and far to be around them. The lively atmosphere and warm vibes set the tone for an amazing day ahead. Before heading to see her groom, Eugenia enjoyed a first look with her Father, taking in a quiet moment before all the action started!
The couple shared their intimate first look moment at the historic Manitoba Legislative Building, the grand architecture provided a breathtaking backdrop. Here, we handed out their personal flowers and kept this moment private without friends and family in attendance.
Eugenia, radiant in her gown, held a soft and romantic bouquet featuring cascading strands of dripping amaranth, delicate orchids, and lush blush roses. Inspired by the romantic floral arrangements painted by Dutch masters, the flowers by Beyond Flowers followed a creamy, sculptural, asymmetrical, and lush aesthetic. Eugenia’s bouquet featured premium blooms like gardenias, orchids, roses, ranunculus, woven into more voluminous flowers like hydrangeas. Dripping green amaranth brought drama and texture to the overall look.
After capturing portraits privately on the grand staircase, they joined close friends and immediate family at the Fort Garry Hotel for additional portraits.
Following portraits, the couple signed their marriage documents in a special pre-ceremony presided over by the Groom’s Cousin. The couple’s immediate family witnessed Jed and Eugenia pledge their love to one another, draped in Jed’s Zaida’s tallit.
Meanwhile, the rest of the guests arrived and waited in the concert ballroom for the ceremony to begin. The wedding palette was a spectrum of warm neutrals: ivory, cream, blush, with various shades of greenery framing each floral moment. The ivory aisle runner directed guests to a gold chuppah set on top of covered ivory risers. Flanking the chuppah were two lush asymmetrical arrangements of orchids and roses dripping with amaranth framing the couple. A draped round cocktail table was positioned under the chuppah with a dramatic arrangement as a backdrop to the kiddush cups and ceremonial wine. We later used these arrangements on the bars and at the reception.
The couple made their way down the aisle towards the chuppah. A short ceremony followed where the couple recited their own vows, broke the ceremonial glass and shared a special dip and kiss moment midway down the aisle once they were pronounced a married couple!

Eugenia and Jed are married! Following the ceremony, the couple took a few moments privately, and sipped on a special bottle of premium tequila before joining their guests for cocktails. Scattered throughout the seventh floor lobby were cocktail tables draped with ivory linens, topped with amber tealights and small sculptural floral arrangements to create a cozy and intimate experience.
Before entering the Crystal Ballroom, guests found their assigned tables on a custom designed seating chart encased in a vintage gold frame. This same elegant script featured on the couples invitations all lovingly designed by the couple’s Sister in Law, Rae. She created all their custom stationery pieces and we LOVE how she carried through the design from the invites to all the other touchpoints of the night with the ceremony signage, the seating chart, bar and later on the dinner menus, name cards and table numbers.
As we opened the doors for the couple’s Grand entrance, our team was busy re-setting the ceremony room with the Fort Garry staff and our vendor partners to prepare for the AFTER PARTY. More about that soon….
The couple sat at a long head table running down the center of the room with round guest tables surrounding them on all sides. We covered the tables in ivory linens and ensured they remained elegant looking and uncluttered as we alternated between the two different decor looks, both with lots of ivory candle accents.
Rather than a uniform line of candles, the head table featured a variety of pillar and votive candles at various heights and textures, creating a dramatic and romantic light pattern, with small floral bud vases sprinkled throughout.
The round guest tables filled the room with warm candlelight from a trio of candles to dotted the room with light, with small bud vases and floral arrangements alternating. We had custom cream menus and table numbers placed at each setting as well.
Our friends from Jones and Co supplied the wine and the couple enjoyed a dinner and toasts while dessert and the party awaited them across the hall in the other ballroom.

After dinner, it was time to shift into night mode! The couple asked all guests to vacate their seats and lead the whole group back to the concert ballroom for the AFTER PARTY!
The Concert ballroom welcomed guests after dinner with three open bars surrounding the dance floor and a small vintage inspired cake. We also arranged a mini dessert bar from Lilac Bakery with dessert displayed on either side of a statement gold shelf along with additional floral arrangements.
Lounge seating and tables glowed with candle light, creating the cozy feel of a popular hotel lobby. As guests enjoyed the sweets table, bar offerings and coffee station, the couple made their way to the dance floor for their first dances, including a father / daughter tango and of course, the horah. Later in the evening we brought out a chicken fingers and fries station while the Big City All Star Band performed on the stage and filled the dance floor while the drinks were flowing. Instead of a sunset photo session, the couple ended their portrait time with some steamy elevator shots and joined all their guests on the dance floor for an epic party.
These two and their families were a blast to work with and their wedding day reflected their energetic and positive nature full of love from family and friends who had traveled near and far to witness their nuptials. We wish them all the best in their new journey as a married couple.
Thanks to all our vendor partners who helped bring this beautiful wedding to life!
