Beyond the Bouquet: 6 Wedding Trends We're Loving for 2026
As we look toward the 2026 wedding season, we're seeing a beautiful shift towards highly personalized, guest-focused, and meaningful celebrations. Couples are moving beyond fleeting fads to embrace trends that have true staying power and reflect their unique stories. While timeless elegance will always be in style, the coming year is about infusing that classic sensibility with personality, purpose, and a whole lot of fun. From hyper-personalization to documentary-style captures, we’re sharing six of the top 2026 wedding trends that we can't wait to bring to life for our Winnipeg couples.
Leah & Jared’s Timeless and Vibrant Wedding
A winter wedding holds a special kind of magic. There’s an inherent romance in the cozy atmosphere, the rich textures, and the warm glow of candlelight against a snowy landscape. For Leah and Jared, their winter wedding was all of this and more—a celebration that was timeless, vibrant, and incredibly chic. Their vision was to wrap their guests in warmth and elegance, using a sophisticated palette of hunter green, black, and white, all brought to life with an abundance of candlelight.
Held at the beautiful Fairmont Winnipeg, this was a day that perfectly balanced classic style with modern details. From the sentimental bouquet to the velvet-draped chuppah, every element was chosen with intention and love. We are so excited to share the details of this stunning winter wedding, with every beautiful moment captured by the talented team at Rhyme and Rhythm. Join us as we step into Leah and Jared’s unforgettable day.
Alle & Jared’s Industrial and Modern Wedding
There are some celebrations that stay with you, long after the last song has played. Alle and Jared’s wedding was one of them—a day filled with moody elegance, modern details, and an atmosphere of pure, infectious fun. We were thrilled to help them put a unique spin on a classic fall palette, creating a chic and industrial aesthetic that was a true reflection of their personalities. The goal was to design an event that felt both sophisticated and completely alive, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

Eugenia & Jed’s Elegant and Timeless Wedding
Today we are thrilled to feature a truly romantic and timeless wedding at the historic Fort Garry Hotel. Eugenia and Jed’s wedding aesthetic had plenty of romantic underpinnings, and we purposefully contrasted those classic elements with modern touches to make it a celebration that felt authentic to the couple’s outgoing and spirited nature. The goal was to create a feeling of old-world elegance and romance and there was no photographer duo better suited for the task than Michael and Melanie. They captured all the traditions and timeless elements AND stayed late for an incredible after party that kept the couple and their guests partying until the wee hours of the morning. Our Favourite Chuppahs
Our clients have been embracing unique chuppah designs over the last few years and this has become a huge focal point of our décor plans. The four post structure with a canopy covering features prominently in Jewish wedding celebrations, as an essential element of the ceremony. The chuppah symbolizes the couple’s new home and the sacred space where they will join their lives together. The couple, (and often their parents) stand underneath the structure during their ceremony in front of their family and friends. From dramatic and moody to barely there, we wanted to share some favourites we’ve had the pleasure of designing over the last few wedding seasons.
The Benefits of a Full Service Wedding Planner
At Alli Mae Events, we offer full planning wedding and event services for our clients. We wanted to share more about this service and how it benefits our couples.
Lindsay & Shane’s Laid Back Downtown Wedding
We LOVE everything about restaurant weddings - the vibes, the existing decor, the fabulous food and drink AND excellent service. Last fall we planned an intimate, downtown wedding featuring a neutral palette with industrial touches. Ashley and Leo’s Colourful Museum Wedding
As a wedding planner, Ashley and Leo’s wedding is one of those celebrations you dream of planning, and lucky for us, our dream came true last summer! Together, we planned a celebration bold in style and bright in colour. Our palette of tangerine orange, sage green, lavender, and blush was present in every detail across the ceremony and reception at the Manitoba Museum.
We wanted to recap all the design moments from this wedding that helped create the ‘wow’ factor and show how you can incorporate colour AND enjoy an elegant, timeless celebration. Keep reading to learn more!
Are You Ready For An Outdoor Wedding?
When you think about outdoor weddings, you might think about a day of fun and memories. Guests and couples alike benefit from fresh air, increased capacity, and ease of access. Not to mention the freedom you have when it comes to floor planning and activating different spaces. No walls, no limitations!
But, let’s be honest. When you think about outdoor weddings, you might also think: risk.
Hannah & Sam’s Upscale & Modern Wedding

Marlee & Mitch’s Elegant Spring Wedding
The 2023 wedding season is coming to an end and we’ve been involved in some fabulous celebrations this year. We kicked off our season with a spectacular spring wedding for Marlee and Mitch at The Gates on Roblin in the Grand Ballroom. We wanted to highlight Marlee and Mitch’s celebration featuring lots of florals and a gorgeous palette of muted whites and greys, along with pops of blush, mauve and gold elements. Read all about their elegant, spring inspired wedding, here.
Jenna & Justin’s Romantic Summer Wedding
Jenna and Justin were such a fun and sweet couple we had the pleasure to work with last year. They got married pool side on the roof of the Delta Hotel in downtown Winnipeg, followed by a gorgeous reception in the Delta ballroom. All these beautiful photos were taken by Picture and Poet.
Raezavel & Jarryd’s Celestial Inspired Wedding
As the 2022 wedding season comes to a close, we are reflecting on all the beautiful weddings we created this year. Raezavel and Jarryd’s Celestial Night wedding was so unique we felt it deserved a feature in today’s blog. Read all about their intimate and gorgeous wedding here.

Vendor Communication 101
With restrictions easing and wedding season on the horizon, email volume is increasing significantly for all wedding vendors, (CUE that flooded inbox)! One of the (many) advantages of a wedding planner is their ability to coordinate all vendor communications on behalf of a client and build a detailed itinerary based on all prior correspondence. If I am not emailing a vendor directly, I always ask my clients to cc me on messages to ensure I am looped into the latest updates. I find every vendor has a very different communication style and some don’t respond regularly which can create much stress for couples when they are not working with a wedding planner. If you are taking on most of the vendor communications on your own, I’ve assembled a list of recommendations as you detail your wedding day plans this season.
Uninviting Children to Your Wedding: Do’s & Don’t’s
We are deep into planning our 2022 season and many of our couples are considering an adults-only wedding reception due to capacity, budget or personal preference. Your wedding guest list is ultimately up to you, so if you want a child-free celebration, you're completely welcome to it, (tons of couples choose to). That said, anyone planning an adults-only wedding tends to run into a few sticky issues, from invitation wording questions to dealing with guests who won't get the message. My best advice is to be honest, yet tactful. This can be difficult to explain to parents and family members without hurting anyone’s feelings, so be sure to follow these important etiquette tips as you finalize your guest list.
2022 Wedding Trends
2022 is here and so is the wedding boom. The Bridal Theory estimates over 2.5 million weddings will take place this year – the most amount of weddings since 1984! The pandemic isn’t over, but celebrations are back and we are so excited to see a record number of beautiful and unique wedding celebrations this year, all driven by a return to party-mode. We are here for it, and know you are too! From interactive entertainment to contemporary rentals, check out some trends you can expect to see this year in the world of weddings.
Elizabeth & Jon’s Pop-Up Style Wedding
The pandemic has given way to a surge in small weddings and we hope this trend doesn’t go away anytime soon. As all the photos and video continue to pour in from an amazing summer season, we wanted to showcase a very special intimate wedding we were delighted to be a part of this past summer.
